“When is a resort not a resort? In this case, when it doesn't provide any facilities outside the room. There's a rooftop bar in summer but nothing at other times. Staff were pleasant but breakfast was limited and when we asked for a second cup of coffee we had to pay for it. The room is large but was taken up by 4 double futons and a massive hanging screen for projecting TV/video. We felt it was intended for a large group who wanted to watch DVDs all day. The cost would have been fine split 8...

“We stayed at this hotel as it was conveniently placed to pick up rental bikes at the port. Staff were great on check in, and they organised luggage transfer for us. Room was lovely. Breakfast was a set Japanese breakfast, beautifully presented, plus options of yogurt and eggs and fruit. A couple of restaurants on site . A few places to eat around the hotel and a courtesy bus to the station (or a 10 minute walk). Supermarket and chemist nearby”

“Very organized. Super neat style and unique qualities to it. The onsen/spa was about a 2min walk away, but they were prepared to let you borrow their tote bag and yukata sweater, and sandals. They provided socks, razor, toothbrush with toothpaste, etc. You can borrow a pitcher and fill it with water at your convenience at their side entrance for hotel guest. Breakfast was provided for free, not a plentiful variety or sum, but enough to get you satisfied, as well as a free drink. Very good...
